Most people wake up and dread their commute, whether that is to get in to work or to Uni, but part of the charm of studying at Cardiff Met is that I get to walk through the beautiful Bute Park to arrive at my final destination – the Llandaff Campus. Before my lecture starts, I usually have just enough time to meet my course mates in the Gallery Café for an all important caffeine fix.

As most students will agree, waking up in the morning in time for university can be one of the hardest things to do, and even when you wake up on time you still crave more sleep. Therefore waking up at 7:30am on Monday mornings can be a struggle at times. After hitting snooze a few times, I get ready and pack my bag with my tunic, clinic trousers and black shoes ready for clinic. At Cardiff Metropolitan University we have a clinic on the Llandaff campus where patients come to be treated by students on the BSc Podiatry course.

Every two years there is an International Congress of Environmental Health. Last time it was held, in 2014, it was in Las Vegas, this year it was in Lilongwe, Malawi.

To be able to attend this conference, Cardiff Met Environmental Health students had to send an abstract of our research projects that we submitted as part of our degree.
